在清华流传一句话：“半国英才聚清华，清华半英在姚班”。能进入“姚班”的学生，要么是数学、物理竞赛的金牌选手，要么是各省高考前三名，而中黄学子王义寅在17岁高二时就已被保送顶级学霸梦寐以求的清华“姚班”。

2017广州《财富》全球论坛开幕晚宴上，中黄五年级小学生朴嘉尔被美国导演选中，担任晚宴全场唯一的串场主持人，在广州上百万的小学生中可谓是百万里挑一。小嘉尔从容自信的台风和流利的英语在全球众多国家元首和政府首脑面前成就了一张展现中国学生国际化素养的“活名片”。

2018年3月，七年级刘语欣同学获得Spelling bee英文拼词大赛广州城市总决赛冠军。
Spelling Bee是全世界公认的历史最悠久，影响力最大，参与人数最多的英文拼词大赛，被誉为英语界的奥林匹克竞赛。

2014年“滑铁卢国际数学竞赛团体金奖”，19位同学获奖；
2015年“滑铁卢国际数学竞赛”5位同学获得一等奖，12位同学获得二等奖，6位同学获得三等奖；
2018年“滑铁卢国际数学竞赛”4位同学获得一等奖，6位同学获得二等奖，8位同学获得三等奖。
滑铁卢数学竞赛始于1963年，是由加拿大综合性大学排名的第3的滑铁卢大学设立的全世界最大的数学学院举办的官方数学竞赛，被誉为加拿大的"数学托福"考试。
